Ingredients (Makes 2 Servings)
2 organic banana peels, well-washed
1–2 inches fresh turmeric root, sliced (or 1 tsp powdered turmeric)
1 handful lemon balm leaves (or mint leaves)
3 cups water
1–2 tbsp honey or sweetener (optional)
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional, for flavor)
Instructions
1. Prepare the ingredients
Wash banana peels thoroughly.
Slice them into strips.
Slice fresh turmeric root.
Rinse the lemon balm/mint leaves.
2. Simmer
Bring 3 cups of water to a boil.
Add banana peels and turmeric slices.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10–12 minutes.
3. Add herbs
Add lemon balm or mint.
Simmer 2–3 more minutes.
4. Strain & Serve
Strain into a cup.
Add honey or lemon if desired.
Serve warm or chilled.
