How to Make Crispy Fried Chicken in the Air Fryer
Step 1
Coat both sides of the chicken with an even coating of olive oil.

In a rimmed dish, combine the bread crumbs, panko, and seasonings.
Step 3
Coat each piece of chicken with the seasoned bread crumbs. Spray each breaded chicken breast with a light coat of olive oil.

Place the chicken breasts into a single layer into the air fryer basket.

Step 5
Air fry chicken at 390 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through the cooking time. Use a digital meat thermometer to ensure the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 74 degrees C before serving.

Step 6
Carefully remove the chicken from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Tips
I make this recipe in my Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer or 6.8 quart air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size and wattages, cooking time may need to be adjusted 1-2 minutes.
Use a digital meat thermometer to make sure your chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F/74°C before serving.
Thinner cuts of meat will cook faster, adjust your time and temperature as needed.
Spice things up by adding additional seasonings.

How to make Unbreaded Fried Chicken in the Air Fryer

Variations
Use a different cut of chicken – This recipe can be made with chicken thighs, chicken drumsticks, and any other chicken pieces that you want.
Add brown sugar – If you want to make the boneless skinless chicken breast a little sweet, adding a little sugar will be perfect.
Spice things up by adding a little chili powder.
For extra crispy chicken, soak the chicken in a buttermilk mixture with egg for about 30 minutes to an hour before breading. Add a light coat of flour mixture before dipping it into egg and then seasoned breadcrumbs. Spray with olive oil before air frying.
