“We made this when we were camping last summer and all of the kids begged to do it again this year”

1. Preheat the oven
Set oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Mix dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Cut in the butter
Add chilled, cubed butter. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4. Add the blueberries
Gently fold in the fresh blueberries.

5. Make the dough
Mix buttermilk and vanilla, then pour into the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms (do not overmix).

6. Shape and cut
Turn dough onto a floured surface and pat into a 1-inch thick circle. Cut into 12 biscuits.

7. Prepare for baking
Place biscuits on the baking sheet. For extra flavor and color, brush tops with melted butter if desired.

8. Bake to perfection
Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.

Serving Tip
Enjoy these biscuits warm with butter and jam, or drizzle with honey for a quick sweet treat. They also pair beautifully with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
