Upside-Down Banana Cake

Prepare the Pan

Melt butter in a 9-inch round cake pan.

Arrange banana slices evenly on the bottom and sprinkle sugar over them.

Make the Batter

Whisk egg, milk, salt, and vanilla extract in a large bowl.

Combine Dry Ingredients

Mix flour and baking powder in a separate bowl.

Mix Wet and Dry

Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, stirring gently.

Add vegetable oil and mix until smooth.

Assemble the Cake

Pour batter over banana layer and spread evenly.

Bake

Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cool and Invert

Let cake cool 10 minutes in the pan.

Carefully invert onto a serving plate.
