Instructions
1. Make the Cake Base
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the melted butter, sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract. Stir until combined.
Fold in pecans if desired.
