🍲 how to make it
Prep the cabbage:
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Core the cabbage and carefully remove whole leaves. Blanch the leaves for 2–3 minutes until pliable. Drain and set aside.

Make the filling:
In a bowl, mix ground meat, cooked rice, onion, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and spices.

Roll it up:
Place about 2 tbsp of filling in each cabbage leaf. Fold sides in and roll tightly like a burrito. Set aside seam-side down.

Make the sauce:
In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat olive oil. SautΓ© onion and garlic until soft. Add tomatoes, paste, sugar, salt, pepper, and simmer for 10 min.

Layer and cook:
Nestle cabbage rolls in the pot over the sauce. Spoon a little sauce over the top. Cover and simmer gently on low for 60–90 minutes, or bake at 350Β°F (175Β°C) in a covered dish for same time.

Serve:
Top with extra sauce and a sprinkle of parsley or sour cream if you like. ΨΉ
