Preparation
Prepare the lemons and ginger:
Wash the lemons thoroughly and slice them thinly. Peel the ginger (and fresh turmeric, if used) and also cut into thin slices.
Boil the water:
Bring 1 liter of water to a boil in a pot.
Add the ingredients:
Once the water boils, remove it from the heat. Add the lemon slices, ginger, turmeric, and a pinch of black pepper. Stir well.
Steeping time:
Cover the pot and let the mixture steep for at least 30 minutes — the longer it sits, the stronger the flavor and effects.
Strain and serve:
Pour the mixture through a fine sieve into a carafe or glass bottle. Optionally, sweeten with a bit of honey or add a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.
Drink warm or cold:
