Air Fryer Hot Dogs

Hot dog buns– Soft, fluffy buns that crisp up beautifully in the air fryer.

Hot dogs– Nathan’s, Ball Park, or Hebrew National Beef Franks all work great.

Variations
Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dogs: Wrap a couple of slices of bacon around each hot dog and air fry until crispy, adding 2-3 minutes of extra cook time.
Chili Cheese Dogs: Top with chili sauce and shredded cheddar cheese for a fun cheesy twist.
Loaded Hot Dogs: Sprinkle with salsa, jalapeños, onion, and sour cream for a spicy twist.
Don’t forget to serve these hot dogs with fun sides like air fryer French fries or homemade beanie weenies.

How to Make Air Fryer Hot Dogs
STEP 1: Take the hot dogs out of the packaging and use a sharp knife to cut diagonal slits into each one so they can expand and cook evenly.

STEP 2: Place the hot dogs in the air fryer basket in a single layer.

STEP 3: Air fry hot dogs at 400 degrees F for 5-7 minutes until heated through and slightly crisp on the outside.

STEP 4: Using tongs or a fork, remove the hot dogs from the basket. Place them in the hot dog buns and return them to the air fryer.

STEP 5: Air fry again at 400 degrees F for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the buns are toasted to a golden brown.

STEP 6: Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite hot dog toppings like ketchup, mustard, chopped onions, sauerkraut, relish, or BBQ sauce.

Tips
Cut slits into the hot dogs: This prevents them from bursting and allows heat to reach the center evenly.
Toast the buns: Adding the buns to the air fryer for the last couple of minutes makes them warm and slightly crispy.
Use quality hot dogs: Beef franks tend to have the best flavor and texture.
